CASE STUDIES
PROJECT 1 - Oily Sludge Treatment
A Norwegian refinery had a crude tank with 8,000m3 of oily sludge which needed to be removed and separated. The sludge was mobilised using sweeps and then processed through the SAU at 80m3/hour. The sludge was treated in just 4 days compared to 6 months for a previous tank. 98% of the oil was recovered, the resultant water was treated to the required standard and there were no solids for off-site disposal.
PROJECT 2 - Produced Water with NORM
In the UK a company had 8,000m3 of Produced Water with NORM in onshore storage. We deployed a mobile media filtration unit with our proprietary blended granular media. This was able to remove both the free and dissolved oils and the radionuclides from the water. The water was processed at 20m3/hour and once treated was able to go for disposal at a municipal site.
PROJECT 3 - Leachate Treatment
A site in Sweden had an average of 145m3 of leachate per day with an average Ammonia load of 140Kg per day and peaks up to 450Kg per day. There were also high levels of heavy metals, Cadmium and Zinc in particular. A combined system of filtration, media absorption and catalytic oxidation was installed. This reduced the ammonia to below 5ppm and the heavy metals to undetectable levels, allowing the treated leachate to be discharged safely to the local river.
PROJECT 4 - Industrial Waste Water Treatment
A specialised wood treatment plant in South Wales required an on-site waste water treatment solution in order to reduce their offsite waste disposal costs. We analysed samples of the water and designed and built a solution for incorporation into their existing onsite waste holding plant. This included an individually designed catalytic oxidation loop to fit into the small footprint available. Off-site disposal costs have been eliminated and raw material costs have been reduced as the treated waste water can now be reused in the process.
